Brother Steve was born on September 6, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas to Evangelist and Mrs. Chuck Brady. Saved at the age of 6, he spent most of his life traveling, singing and ministering with his family in churches all across America. The Lord called Brother Steve to preach at the age of 16, and he was ordained on February 27, 1993 at Bible Baptist Church in Mount Orab, Ohio.
Brother Steve met his wife, Laura, when both families were singing and ministering at the same church. After a somewhat long-distance courtship due to the schedules, Steve and Laura were married on May 5, 1989. They have 6 children, Stephen, Joseph, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Laurissa, and Laurianna.
Steve has served as the Associate Pastor with Pastor Vance Catlin at Harmony Baptist Church for 15 years. His wife Laura has been the church pianist as well as served in the church with ladies’ meetings, etc. and has been a vital part of the ministry at Harmony Baptist Church. We have been so thankful that God has placed us in the ministry and given us the privilege to serve Him.
It has been in our hearts for several years to go to different churches and raise money for the BPS Ministry to generate funds for equipment, paper, and covers, but we were not sure of the timing of this. We prayed for the perfect timing and we see now that God has just opened doors and paved the way for us to step out on faith and start going on the road to encourage pastors and their churches, and to raise much-needed funds for BPS.
We are excited about this new chapter in our lives! We ask that you will pray for us as we travel that God will direct us where he wants us to go.
Brother Steve’s life verse is Psalm 119:105, which says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light onto my path.”
Laura grew up in a Godly Christian home with a family in full-time Christian ministry. Her parents, Joe and Carolyn Caplinger surrendered to ministry when her and her 3 sisters where very young. They became missionaries, planting churches until she graduated high school and surrendered into full-time evangelism, when she met Steve.
She was saved at the age of 10 and baptized by her dad. She fell in love with Jesus and ministry at an early age and prayed diligently for God to direct her to the one He had for her to marry, and to continue in ministry.
God did just that when she met Steve at a Camp meeting in Pennsylvania. Within just a few days of the meeting, they knew they were God’s choice for each other and they were married 10 months later. They traveled with The Bradys for 3 years before God began to put them in a ministry of their own, and blessed them with 4 boys and 2 girls.
They have served together the last 26 years in many capacities, associate pastor, youth leader, music director, counselor, children’s ministry, evangelism, friend to pastors and Christian workers, and whatever God allows them to do.
We love God’s people and want to be a blessing and encouragement to Pastors and their families and to their churches. Laura has been very involved in women’s ministry, directing events and ministering in speaking engagements. She has a special love and compassion for women, especially pastor’s wives and wives of men in full-time ministry.
Laura’s Favorite verse is Ephesians 3:20, which says “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
